1. Who we are

Teacher David is an English learning platform operated as a sole proprietorship based in the Netherlands. If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@teacher-david.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account data: your email address, used to log in and send you updates.
  • Onboarding answers: your name, learning goal, native language, and daily time preference — used to personalise David's responses.
  • Conversation data: messages exchanged with Teacher David, stored to improve your experience and track your progress.
  • Usage data: session counts and daily streaks, stored to show you your progress dashboard.
  • Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and personalise the English learning experience.
  • To send account-related emails (magic link logins, receipts).
  • To track your usage and enforce plan limits.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Third-party services

  • Supabase — stores your account and conversation data (EU region).
  • Google Gemini — generates David's text responses. Your messages are sent to Google's API.
  • ElevenLabs — converts David's text to speech. Reply text is sent to ElevenLabs' API.
  • Stripe — processes payments. Governed by Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Vercel — hosts the application. Your IP may be logged by Vercel for security purposes.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are based in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email us at hello@teacher-david.com and we will respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us. Payment records are kept for 7 years as required by Dutch law.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify registered users by email for any material changes.
